Could you post more information on the problem, like what you do to get the error, version of anything relevant, etc?
I agree. If you were to write an Instructable on some of the most common cmd error's and alternate ways to solve the problems it would be a great help for many computer users who are new to using shell coding on various windows platforms. For the record though what is mentioned above does not in fact work on windows vista. For vista you have to have access to an admin account or you are pretty much screwed without a bootable drive i.e. a CD-ROM or floppy disc with the appropriate files.

Its very simple....your doing it from a limited account and therefore it wont let you. People on youtube and forums should really try their tricks out on a limited account...most of the account hacks do not work on limited. Fortunately (if you are XP or earlier) there is a way around. At startup, after you see the load page with the computer brand name, hold down F8. If you hear a continuing beep, let F8 go, and try again after a second. Eventually you will get a boot menu. Using the up and down keys, select "Safe Mode With Command Prompt" and hit Enter. A lot off blah blah will apear and the screen will appear to freeze-don't hit enter or try to continue...you will eventually get to the login page. If you get the regular graphic login screen, hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete and Type in "Administrator" and login (do not enter a password). (Obviously, since you got the system error, you did it right before.) You will get a command window...now do what you tried before and you are in. I don't know for sure, but I doubt this works with Vista. Hope this helps....I am not responsible for what you do with this knowledge....don't get yourself banned from any computers. C://
