You'll get a few good hours before the latex start to peel. Essentially, it depends on a few different factors. Different skins have more or less oil present, and people perspire differently. To help, consider the following points...<br /><br /><strong>1) </strong>Make sure the skin is clean and dry <em>before</em> you start. Use a mild astringent such as toner (Seabreeze, Witchhazel or Surgical spirit) to clean the skin of the natural grease and oils which are present. These can prevent the latex from sticking as well as it might.<br /><br /><strong>2)</strong> Sweat will loosen the adhesion, as the perspiration will come through the skin. To avoid this, keep cool and drink plenty (water rather than beer!). The longer it is worn, the more likely the sweat will start to loosen the latex.<br /><br /><strong>3)</strong> The more you stretch your face, the more you will stress the latex bond. It may be that it will peel up at the edges or in a few places where sweat accumulates. <br /><br /><strong>4)</strong> If it's a messy makeup (as would be the case with a zombie or a burn makeup) it is easy to fix and little detached areas are not so noticeable. Bring a little makeup colour, blood and latex in leak-proof plastic containers for repairs and touch-ups, or use a prosthetic adhesive as an alternative glue. Medical spirit gums & Pros Aide are particularly good.<br /><br /><strong>5)</strong> Obviously if you are attending a costume party you don't want the makeup to limit the fun you 'll have, so consider that before covering your whole head.
