For a longer version just go through my second batch file instructable. Copy the text from that, if you want I can email it to you. (instrcutables format messes it up)

PING LOCALHOST -N x > NUL

x=However long you want it to be.

Note: PING LOCALHOST -N 2 > NUL is the closest to one second in my opinion.
@echo off
echo Loading.
ping localhost -n 4 > nul
echo Loading..
ping localhost -n 4 > nul
echo Loading...
ping localhost -n 4 > nul
echo ...and the rest of the program here...
pause

Re-design's links are really useful for learning batch.

Okay, there are a lot of possibilities. Here are two:

@echo off &setlocal
set "out=load"
for /l %%a in (1,1,5) do (
call set "out=%%out%%."
call echo %%out%%
ping -n 2 localhost>nul
cls
)
pause

@echo off &setlocal
<nul set /p "=load"
for /l %%a in (1,1,5) do (
<nul set /p "=."
ping -n 2 localhost>nul
)
cls
pause
The code will reveal itself as you learn to program batch files.

This is just the first step.

Here is the next step.

Good luck.
Sure. Here is the code. Every thing you need is here. Along the way you're going to have to learn a few things but when you're thru, you will be able to write your own code anytime you want.

It's such a feeling of freedom to learn to do something that you couldn't do before.
