For a longer version just go through my second batch file instructable. Copy the text from that, if you want I can email it to you. (instrcutables format messes it up)

x=However long you want it to be.

Note: PING LOCALHOST -N 2 > NUL is the closest to one second in my opinion.
@echo off
echo Loading.
ping localhost -n 4 > nul
echo Loading..
ping localhost -n 4 > nul
echo Loading...
ping localhost -n 4 > nul
echo ...and the rest of the program here...

Re-design's links are really useful for learning batch.<br /><br />Okay, there are a lot of possibilities. Here are two:<br /><br />@echo off &setlocal<br />set "out=load"<br />for /l %%a in (1,1,5) do (<br /> call set "out=%%out%%."<br /> call echo %%out%%<br /> ping -n 2 localhost>nul<br /> cls<br />)<br />pause<br /><br />@echo off &setlocal<br /><nul set /p "=load"<br />for /l %%a in (1,1,5) do (<br /> <nul set /p "=."<br /> ping -n 2 localhost>nul<br />)<br />cls<br />pause<br />

The code will reveal itself as you learn to program batch files.<br /><br />This is just the first step.<br /><br /><a href="">Here is the next step.</a><br /><br />Good luck.<br />

Sure. <a href="">Here is the code</a>. Every thing you need is here. Along the way you're going to have to learn a few things but when you're thru, you will be able to write your own code anytime you want.<br /><br />It's such a feeling of freedom to learn to do something that you couldn't do before.<br />
