Way, way back in the murky mists of time, one of the PC magazines gave away a disc of DOS utilities, one of which was BAT2EXE which would convert your batch files to .EXE files. I've long since lost the disc, but you can find some of the utilities HERE. Batch commands have their uses - I use a whole raft of utilities I've written for various system admin tasks - but if you want to program then you really need to learn a proper programming language.
Well no... not normally, but I have used Batch for some very simple programs that I needed in .exe for one reason or another (normally for my own use). It's not a bad tool to have up your sleeve. :)
