how to make motion dector flying bird?
I'd like to make a cardboard bird (about 12 inches) fly across a room and return to their originating spot using a motion sensor/detector. Any thoughts?

Well, if it's not attached to a wire, a radio beacon would probably work best (like aeroplanes use). So you're really after an RC plane, in the form of your cardboard bird, but with the remote replaced by a self-contained system. And a radio transmitter at the start / finish point.
