how to uncoil a USB cable?

Hi!
I have a coiled usb cable but is there a way so i get a straight usb cable again, because it kinda pulls the usb cable out of the female usb port when i use it.
It would also be way longer if it isn't coiled.

Heat - hang it up from a hook - Put a weight on the end heavy enough to just pull it strait - then warm it with a heat gun or hair dryer.

Alternatively stretch round a wide length of wood to pull the curl out and bak in the oven at 120 - 130 to soften the plastic coating.

NOTE: You do this at your own risk.

I've done a few times. Put the cable in boiling water, making sure the connectors don't get wet. Wait a few minutes for the plastic to soften some, then stretch the cable taught and pour cold water over the heated portion, again, not getting the connectors wet. It will relax the coil into loose curves, but I haven't ever been able to get a completely straight cable.

The only effective way I know of to remove curl from cabling is to gently reverse the curl by hand and allow time to help relax the plastic casing. I'd avoid more "strenuous" methods due to the possibility of damage by overdoing it.

That is, of course, for cables the are meant to be ~straight.

If you're talking about "coil" like a telephone cord (spring shaped), imo you'd be better off purchasing a new cable than trying to reshape one made in a spring-like configuration.

No guarantee this would work but cables are coiled by being wrapped around a cylinder and applying heat so I would assume you could reverse the effect by straightening it on a rod and applying heat from a blow dryer or heat gun.

Probably not, it might uncoil if you heated it in an oven to 100C plus, and then pulled it. The curl is put in by heating, it might come out that way too.
