how would you suggest i make a model of this?

I want to make a scale model of this, but i'm a bit unsure what would be the best thing to make it out of.

 Depending on the size you wish to make it maybe?   

If you wish it it be nearly as big as shown, or only slightly smaller, you may want to consider stiff cardboard.  Although, if you are making it smaller, the wood that Lemonie suggests, sounds best.
