loosen toggle switch

I'm trying to build a "most useless machine" with the dpdt method.  I found a dpdt mini toggle, but its still hard to flip.  anyone know a way to make it easier to flip

I realize this is a very old question, but in case anybody still wants to know- its really simple. All you have to do is open up the switch box, pull off the sliders from the springs, take the springs out and cut them. Only cut a very small part off, and put it back together and check it. Continue taking small pieces off the spring until you get the desired 'stiffness'. I don't know how that hasn't been answered yet, it's pretty simple and seems pretty obvious.

Switches come with different actuation forces. If you want to avoid modifying the switch you have (as below) then your only other choice is to get a different switch.

put a longer handle on the switch. glue a plastic or metal tube to the switch handle and it will give you more leverage to make the switch easier to push. If your application does not allow a long handle, then the only thing i know to do is buy another switch.

In real terms you would have to take it apart and replace the spring(s), then reassemble it. Otherwise see framistan.
