Have you considered building your own? A few years back someone inColorado did something along these lines. He started with abulldozer chassis. Then he added steel plate, concrete, cameras, weapons, etc.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,121872,00.html

From the article:

Heemeyer plowed the armor-plated bulldozer into the town hall, a former mayor's home and at least five other buildings Friday before the machine ground to a halt in the wreckage of a warehouse.

And who says you can't fight city hall?
;-)

I should also mention that Martin Heemeyer unfortunately died before hecould complete his negotiations with the city, and get his killdozerproperly registered with the DMV. Which also means that was unableto write an instructable about the experience.
The occasionally come up on auction from the govt. Sometimes someone who has one wants to sell one.

They are expensive to buy. They are expensive to move, you can't drive one on the street without a special permit and maybe not even then. They are really expensive to maintain. Lots of the parts are not even available and have to be custom made. Most of the owners are X military mechanics. Several that I know of are owned by clubs where many people share the costs.

Get a jeep instead. More fun and alot less expensive/troublesome.

Without reservation I completely agree! I've dreamed more than once of owning my own working tank.

Eastern Europe.

I'm totally serious here, apparently there's massive junkyards where you can buy a fully functional T-72 for under 100 grand.

Join a club where they've got one and do what ever you want to do it then.
