what electronic projects can i do with an old tape recorder parts and a working cell phone?

can i do a battery charger with them ? Can i convert a dc mortor into a powerful dynamo ,if no then please explain me how to make a dynamo easily with easily available parts which can charge a nine volts battery.also tell me how to use a digital multi meter [i.e measuring resisters, diodes, transisters ect]. pls answer me all these questions

if the recorder is in one peace you could make a mobile operated tape deck. you could hack the phone so that when it rings the tape recorder plays or starts recording. if it wore to play you could make a looped tape (like in makezines meloman week end project) and have a cool sound maker. good for halloween.

Old tape recorders are ideal sources for parts for things like head bots and solar rollers.

Various DC motors will give an output voltage as the shaft is rotated. This will depend on the working voltage of the motor and rotation speed. You will need a diode in series with the output current from the motor to the battery, this will prevent the battery discharging back through the motor. The diode is used as a blocking diode and the positive DC output from the motor will connect to the anode of the diode, the cathode will connect to the positive (+) of your battery. The negative side of your motor connects to the negative (-) of the battery. You can purchase 'auto ranging' digital meters which makes readings a lot easier to undertake if your unsure how to set the ranges.
