what is some gear i could use to protect from dying and such while parkouring?

like i have shin pads and gloves for when i parkour.  but like whenever i roll on concrete i mess up my back. what would be a good way to help protect my back without it being to hot, heavy, or stupid looking? also, some other gear too?

Take a tip from motorcyclists: leather. Or if you've got the money a motorcycle jacket with built-in back-protection. Bailing from a bike usually involves sliding down Tarmac, bike-gear will give you good protection with some flexibility, and you could find gear that looks OK.

If you're messing up your back with a roll, there's something wrong with your technique. Using some kind of back protector is probably going to mess up your rolls anyways. If you want to prevent injury, you need to work on your technique before doing it from a height high enough to potentially hurt yourself.
Absolutely. I go with Kryptonite's advice of getting someone to teach you the essential safety techniques... or at the very least spending some time learning Judo or a similar form which will teach you how to do basic falls without hurting yourself.

As far as protecting yourself from dying -- Don't Be Stupid. Don't do anything which presents that risk; train yourself and/or redesign the trick to eliminate the hazard. It's probably "bad form", but I personally would HIGHLY recommend a safety line any time you're pushing beyond your comfort zone; the technical rock climbing community has plenty of safety equipment and techniques for managing those hazards.

Basic skating or kiting armour should do the job.

Knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist guards I find to be a necessity. As to landing, practice practice practice and get some one who knows how, to show you the correct technique, on a nice floor mat or something. Not too soft and squishy so it ruins your technique, just there to protect from painful concrete.

What do you mean?
Is it the fall or skidding?
