Depends what motor, Try measuring it with a multimeter, It might be AC or DC

Not easy, and unless your turning it at a high speed any output will be quite low.

What type of motor is it? Assuming it is a universal brushed motor, it won't be as simple as just turning a shaft. You need to have the coils of wire inside experiencing a change in magnetic flux with respect to time. In layman's terms, this means the turning coils need to be close to bigass magnets to make electricity.

You may need to modify the motor quite a bit to make it work as an effective generator.
