AA to USB charger

Can someone provide me with a schematic for a AA-5v USB charger, either using 2xAA or 4xAA, using parts available on ebay UK (and no programmable chips), much like the mintyBoost, but the chip isn't available in the UK.

This will set you back about 10 US dollars. Not sure about the UK shipping though.
