New Forum Topic

Achiev'ibles - Fixed

Just a quick forum topic to say that no patches will be automatically assigned for the next week or so. The site update changed some of Instructable's source code, my Perl scripts rely on that to find certain bits of information.

As a result, I won't be handing out patches until I find time to fix it.

That's all :)

UPDATE: Canucksgirl's helped me find a fix/workaround. Yay! It should run again soon and we'll see if it worked.

UPDATE 2: Yup, it worked. Patches were sent out again.

I am so glad to see there is Perl used on this site, I've been programming in it for 16 years and it's still my favorite language. That is all. :-)

They don't use Perl for the actual Instructables website. I'm part of the community and use it to scrape data over the web and award members for reaching goals. I really like Perl, but tend to get sneered at a lot when I mention I use it :p

It hasn't the last few times. I've checked the code today, it's not a problem with the code. The page I fetch keeps timing out. :(
