Arduino and esp8266

Hi, I am new to arduino and creating project where i connected arduino uno and esp8266 as follows:

UNO --- ESP8266
RX ----- RX
TX ----- TX
GND --- GND
3.3V --- VCC
3.3V --- CH_PD

I power arduino uno and it is working fine. i checked by uploading blink program.
when i connect esp8266 to arduino uno and open serial monitor i am getting some garbage text which is shown in below screen shot. also when i connect esp8266 to uno the orange light is continuously blinking. no action on entering AT command in serial monitor.

some one please let me know how to get it work.

Actually the Blink program does nothing but blink an LED on the Arduino. Do you have loaded a specific blink
for the module ?

Have you loaded esp8266
libraries for the module? Or some other code to access the module? Set
the serial speed on the Arduino to match the module?

i added blink program which comes inbuilt in IDE software library and that blink led on arduino board. this is just to verify board is working.

could you help to get the libraries to load for esp8266 module. i did not find anything on ARDUINO 1.6.5 IDE software. do i need to import the libraries from some where? please let me know.

From what I recall, the Blink program does nothing but blink an LED...on the Arduino itself.

Or have you loaded a specific Blink for the module (like a status program)? Have you loaded esp8266 libraries for the module? Or some other code to access the module? Set the serial speed on the Arduino to match the module?

If not, you probably haven't done anything but supply power to the module. If the two aren't synced, any serial communication will probably look like garbage.

Did you load / run Blink first on the Arduino, before adding the module?

On rereading, I see you did indeed test the Arduino first with the Blink prog. That's good, your Arduino setup is working. So disregard anything I wrote specific to Blink and the new module...

i haven't loaded any esp8266 libraries for the module and any other code to access the module. can you point me any link or document how to upload and access it. sorry but i am new to this.

Try this first:

http://forum.arduino.cc/index.php?topic=283043.0

A caveat or two -- that link says the Uno regulator doesn't have the current capacity to supply the esp8266. So an external supply might be in order (if you're not already using one). Also, some question if the Uno's logic levels (5V) are compatible with the module (3.3V).

Some of that is addressed on this link right here on I'bles:

the error message shown in image was after the below process.

Initially i checked blink code on arduino and that was working fine after that i uploaded blank code to arduino which is shown in the above image and while uno is ON i connected esp. On serial monitor i got garbage text which is shown above and when i entered command AT, no output.

let me know do i need to upload blink program, then connect esp and check with AT command?

You already have error messages in the status window.
You do not list any code you used.
Am I right to suspect you did not check the Arduino code pages for examples as well?
