Awesome led cube

I'm contemplating selling LED cubes (better quality than the one in my instructable, of course) but I would like to know how much people are willing to pay for them, and what types they would like before I do.
Could those interested in purchasing a cube please tell me how much they would pay, and what they would like it to look like (color, size, etc)?

Instructable, for those who do not know.

By having your name on it, do you mean that your name would be made by the cracks, or be etched into it? What is a baseline of what you would be willing to pay?

I have an idea for a cube. You make it about four inches long on each side and give it a blue, red, green, and UV LED's and make it have four push on/push off switches and maybe only one battery. It would be cool because you could have a light on and the UV light would make other things glow and people would really think it is from the future.

Unfortunately UV LEDs aren't very powerful, so the amount it would make other things glow would be hardly noticeable. Great idea however. I'm thinking about using reed switches and having indents where magnets can be placed into the cube, so it would be like a key to activate it.

You could have a circular groove and have a spinning side with a magnet that goes along the groove and then turns switch on

Reed switches would be great with magnet ring or something like that. I also found a very small push on/push off switch at allelectronics.com.

Also though UV's aren't very bright visibly, they will still make things glow around them and still have a cool effect without the other lights.

If its the same size as in the Instructable then 5$ or as much as you spent to make it.My brother and I are making a 4x4x4 inch cube with a 9 volt battery to spread power throughout 3 LEDs. What I'm tying to say is make a big cube with 3
different color LEDs to make a color bled cube(;In that case it could be 10$

IT would be more preferable if you had posted this inquiry on the intended instructable. I'm not even entirely sure of what you are asking. No, the battery is not removable.

Alex, Unfortunately economics doesn't work the way you are thinking. The manufacture sets the price a little high, if people buy it good, if they do not or complain the seller will lower the price. Start with your materials list: A LED (preferably high power) a 3 volt coin cell battery a 100 ohm resistor (anything close to 100 will work) a momentary or push button switch. thin sheet metal Plexiglas hot glue How much would these cost from a whole seller if bought in bulk? Yes, the material prices depends on the size of the box. So, chose some sizes you like and state "custom size prices vary, please contact me with your specific requirements". I would start with 4", 5" and 6", then expand from there if you have the demand. Okay, now you have the material cost of each cube. How long does it take to build? The first one probably took awhile, but once you get better at building them it will be faster. How much do you think you should charge for your time? $5, $10, $15 per hour? Add that to the cost. Now you have the cost of your cube. Next look at shipping, what is the cost of the shipping box? What is the actual cost of shipping? Can you drive to the post offce/UPS/FedEX? Do you need to have them pick up the items? It all adds up that's why it's called 'shipping and handling' Most shippers have a set price for the 48 states, and a variable price for Hawaii/Alaska/international shipping. Next search online for other similar items. What are their prices? How does the cost of your cube compare to the other items? Where are you advertising? Do you have your own website? Can you create your own website? You are trying to sell these, which is good. But you have to set the initial price. Good luck!
