Best way to glue Acyrlic and Delrin?

I got some semi-transparent acrylic laser cut by ponoko and I want to adhere it to a backing made of Delrin.  Since the acrylic is semi-transparent, I'd like to use a glue which dries clear.  I've scoured the interwebs, but most of the glues I found are non-transparent.  Any ideas?

The piece will just hang on a wall - it doesn't need to withstand significant stresses or anything.  Thanks!

You will need to do surface preparation on the Delrin.

But Delrin itself is opaque white. Why are you worried about transparent adhesive?

Because I'm trying to glue a semi-transparent piece of acrylic to the white delrin and I don't want to see blue, grey, or some other color instead of the color of the semi-transparent acrylic.

Ah! But then, what about an adhesive which dries white or translucent?

It sounds like you can abrade the Delrin surface (200 or 400 grit paper), and then use a simple two-part epoxy or even SuperGlue.

K. I'll try that I suppose if no better ideas arise.

Delrin is one of those super-slick plastics used in gear bushings and stuff. I would think it would be hard to find any glue, clear or not, that will bond permanently short of trying to heat weld or mechanically fasten it to something else.
something similar to the model glues, that would soften/dissolve a bit of the model in order to bond it permanently would work....unless the material is very thin.

since you said it will hang on a wall, would you be able to clip the two together. or glue something to the edges without overlapping onto the front and back? I'm just tossing ideas out, since I don't have a clue what Delrin looks like, or how thick it is.

Once your project is done, be sure to post it here
