Cactus spine clusters pulled out

I just bought a Torch Cactus from Lowes today and tried to pull the ugly fake flowers off, but when I pulled the hot glue a whole spine cluster came off of it. I'm just wondering if the cactus will heal from this and how damaging this can be to the cactus overall. Can anyone help me?

In the past seven days since I bought my cactus, the spines have become much more flexible then they were when I first bought it. Could this mean I'm watering it too much or something? I've been following the instructions on the pot it came in which said to water it when the soil felt dry to the touch.

Oh and I just realized that there's a different place on Instructables to ask questions. Can someone link me there? I can't seem to find it.

Don't worry about it, it'll be fine. It'll dry up and scar over.

I don't think that will work for what I just did to my cactus but that gave me an idea. I'll try grafting the spine cluster back to the cactus once I finish picking the hot glue off of it.
