Can some one make this sewer cam?

Can someone make the sewer camera at this link? http://www.dtldeals.com/  It looks really easy.  The only thing I can't find right now is the color camera with LEDs (This is not an IR camera, which are easy to find.)

Are you guys still trying to build this? Have you figured it out yet. From what I can tell, the Aussie uses either a e325 Car Reverse Camera or a e328 Car Reverse Light.

We'ved noticed that when using a e325, the night vision doesn't work that well. We bought our camera from ManleeUSA on eBay. His camera doesn't say if it's e325 or e328. Doesn't say the night vision distance either nor if it's CCD or CMOS.

The e328 is CMOS/CCD and the night vision distance or range is 15 to 30 feet.

I would like to know how to increase the LED intensity. Other Snake Cameras have a USB control with a dial to increase the light. Any ideas on how to make that work?
I have worked at a company where we repaired sewer cameras and I even designed a sewer camera. The lights can be made adjustable easily by using an LM317 adjustable voltage regulator. You have to know how many volts your camera can withstand.... and how many volts your lights need. If your camera can withstand 12v but will work as low as 8 volts... then keep that in mind when you make your circuit. The lights and the camera power are MOST LIKELY on the same wire. So you don't want to put out 8 to 14 volts for your lights if the camera can only withstand 12 v.

I don't see why you are trying to "BUILD YOUR OWN" when this one from dtldeals.com is so cheap! Do you guys know what a real sewer camera sells for? upwards of 5 thousand dollars! Why build your own when you can buy theirs for a couple hundred bucks? The big difference compared to the 5000 dollar camera looks to me like the push cable is much stiffer on the expensive camera. This cheaper wire looks more flippidy... and not stiff. It would not push very far into a sewer line or around corners very well. It might be stiffened up by attaching it so some kind of actual 100ft push-cable from hardware store maybe. It looks like something useful for occasional use by homeowner, but not for a professional plumber because time is money and goofing with substandard equipment COSTS you money and loss of jobs. You would be better off just paying the 5000 dollars and getting a professional RIDGID brand inspection camera. They are the best brands out of all of them in my opinion.
I found the correct adapter, plus a battery adapter if someone wants to use either.

Our cable is stiff, and we've had great success.

I killed a couple of these cameras though since I wired the power backwards. When I finally got it to work it actually worked really well and the picture was definitely good enough. The problem I then encountered was that I couldn't get it to turn corners very well. I never solved that problem. I'm not very good as a "maker".

How did you power your camera pipe? Did you use a 12 VDC adapter or a 9 volt battery?

We've been trying both. The 9 volt battery doesn't seem to turn the LED's on.

I was wondering your exact application so I can narrow down what doesn't work.

Turning on those LED's seems to be an issue. Even if it's a foot in front that would be okay. Just need to know how the power is connected.

Also, did you use 100 feet or the cable length that came with it?
I used a plug in adapter, as that was guaranteed to work. When you wire it be sure to wire it correctly, because if you do it backwards you can fry the camera. Not sure why the battery isn't working, maybe it just doesn't have enough juice? I made one 50 feet, but actually I wish I had made it shorter for my first one, maybe 15 or 20 feet. That way I could handle it easier and make it easier to work out the issues.
Jeff, when you say, Plug In Adapter, do you mean a 9 volt battery plug in adapter?

Also, what did you use for a monitor and what resolution?

Asking cause two people say they couldn't see anything.

Sneek-A-Peek.com has a fantastic video. They say they only use a 9 volt battery at 100 foot cable. Either they're lying or I'm doing something wrong.

Not sure of the exact resolution, but it was good quality, similar to sneek-a-peek.coms.

The only reason I can think of the battery not working for you but it is working for them is would be differences in the camera used (assuming everything is wired correctly).
Okay, so a 9 volt Adapter (not battery) or whatever voltage your camera is. Also the USB Easycam DVD/DVR that hooks up to your PC.

I had one and sent it to a friend. Just ordered another one.

Thanks, I'll check when I get that one in, and compare that with a Battery vs DC power adapter.

How was the lighting Jeff? Friend says he couldn't see much past the camera when it was in the Wall.

I guess I need to check for myself. I wondering if the LED's have problems.

You had issues with turning corners? What size pipe did you push it in or was it a wall? What kind of Pipe did you use, Pex, gray water, plastic conduit?
The lighting for inside of a pipe worked great. I could only see for about a foot in front of the camera, but that is all I needed. Is your friend trying to see for a very long distance? Because I don't think that would work.

I used some conduit, but that didn't seem to be the problem. The problem was that when the camera hit a 90 degree turn it just didn't turn. I was thinking if there were some wheels around it it might make it easier, but I can't figure out how to make that work.
My friend said he could barely see. We tested from my Portable DVD player outside at night and the picture was extremely clear. Need to check for myself.

I have a Camera coming from eBay probably next week. Could come tomorrow or Saturday USPS.

I read a post on a Plumbers forum where a guy suggested using a Compression Spring at the end of the cable. This is suppose to help make the 90 degree turns.

I wouldn't know how to attach it except to put the compression spring inside the end of the cable.

I use a PVC Barb to threaded end adapter then add a thread to slip pvc. I then run the cable through that, and push the camera with epoxy to hold it down. I use a pex ring to hold the barb down, and put shrink tubing over all that.

I've seen these on ebay, but they end about $200 to $300. Sometimes even more. This site has them for $200 all the time: PipeCameras.info

One of the guys on eBay has the Camera Light really bright. I'm wondering if theres a way to make the camera light brighten up?
