## Can you allow users to use mathjax to add nicely formatted equations?

http://www.mathjax.org/

Users can use Latex-like formatting, such as $\sum_{i=1}^n \frac{1}{n}$. See http://math.stackexchange.com for example.

Thanks, Joe

Good suggestion. We're currently working on adding several special characters for different languages, this would be a great addition!

Yes, this is what I have done in the past, but it is a pain for me and for the interested reader.

Also, it would not involve rewriting the site. It just requires adding one or two lines to the head section of the html. It could be optional.

Anyway, it is just a suggestion, often a well placed formula can save pages of descriptive ramble. However, having developed many products myself, I understand that there are more considerations involved.
I think the editor software used here chokes enough on getting MS Word formatting to go through. Formula and scientific notation formatting codes might cause problems. Give it a shot though and see what happens.
