On the subject of spamming, I have a new tactic to deal with the occasional spam thread, such as this one.

In addition to not replying (letting it slide down the list) and flagging it, I've started PMing the perpetrator with a friendly welcome message, pointing out that the site welcomes adverts, just please use this link ( http://www.instructables.com/advertise/ ) to do it.

Either the prospect of a bill will send them running, or the site will get more income. Either way, it's a winner.

spam. spam.. spam... If only you could eat it. ;)

Done. I deleted the spam messages and sent him a message.

While we're on the subject...
Could you let people say why they're flagging something? It could be something not completely obvious.

Flag him and don't worry about it ;) Stuff like this just makes the admin's job that much more difficult :p

What is funny with this one, it's that he puts his own instructables into his fav list ............

I'd said just flag them and wait, or else you could PM a staff member directly. It's sad that people resort to spamming, isn't it?
