Dazzling White

Everyone should beware of the teeth whitening ads on Instructables.  One of the advertisers, Dazzling White, is a fraudulent company which, once they have your Credit card number, will continue charging your credit card forever.  If you complain, they say they will send you an email to opt out but you will never get the email.  They will charge your card in advance of sending you their product so you will get billed 2 or 3 times before you ever get anything.

Their offer is a "trial" sample for which they will bill you something like $8.  If you read the small print, which no one ever does, it says you have to cancel within 10 days of receiving your trial else they will charge you the full $80+ dollars, will enroll you in their "program" and start billing you $80+ every month.

I had to get my credit card company involved in order to get them to cease and desist.  No amount of pleading with them on the phone will work.  They claim to abide by their "terms and conditions".

I've been on the Internet a long time and this is the first time I've ever succumbed to fraudulent activity of this magnitude.  I'm out $160 that I will never get back.

Instructables!!!  You need to get these crooks off your site.  It's giving you a bad name.

If you search the Internet, you will see hundreds of complaints about these crooks.

Spread the word!

Instructables probably get their adverts (except the occasional "featured" one like the Crafstman ones were a while back) through an advert network. They can specify the type of adverts they want to show, but not individual advertisers. This means they can't stop those adverts completely unless the advert network agrees to do that. If the company is actually fraudulent then they should be reported to the advert network, and will doubtless have their ads removed, but until that happens I don't think the Instructable staff can do anything about it.

I figured as much. Still. This is something that needs to be brought to someone's attention. Instructables knows who the advert network is and should take the complaint up the line. These guys are truly crooks.
