Epic Yarn Bombing!

New York yarn artist Olek has pulled off an act of epic yarn bombing. She crocheted a cover for the Wall Street bull. Incidentally the bull itself was another act of guerrilla street art, having been placed there without permission in 1987 by artist Arturo Di Modica.

Thanks to for the tip from our very own Natalina

Simply gorgeous! Kudos to the artist, and I love that it's a bomb on another guerilla piece of art.

There was an article about it on CNN.

They obviously don't know the difference between crocheting and knitting but it's still coverage on it.

Haven't seen anything on it except this post. The City does sleep.

The white security vehicle parked watching the activity does seem to indicate she got the necessary permits to swaddle the bull. You can do anything...for a price. Most likely it is the downtown improvement district rent-a-cop, although the streets are patrolled by various city and federal agencies with it's close proximity to Ground Zero.

I personally would have covered the whole thing with Post-It Notes.

This type of activity is on the increase - we all need to do one!!! There even have been whole day event world-wide by fiber nuts - encase tree trunk, huge rocks, More monuments need this, even if taken down. Too bad the City of NY didn't embrace this "treasure"!
