Experimental Cooking

To break in the forum - I'm thinking of making a Dorito and Onion Pot Pie. Fun? YES. Delicious? Hard to say...

Cool link - it sounds like great info and fun. Do you happen to know if the speaker's speeches will be available on the site too? For those who cannot attend? (please forgive any wonky typing errors - I have a google ad obscuring part of the posting window...grrrr...)

What size is your browser? Can you submit a bug report with a screen shot? We don't want the ads in your way!

What does *that* mean? Kind of like something from "The Shining,"

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

Its' called Lorem Ipsum, it's used as filler text for graphic/web designers. It's very similar to average English writing so it makes things look right before you put the real copy in.

Oh - that was just to fill the posting window so you could see the blocked parts. I will send the bug report now.

I have two books on the subject: What Einstein Told his Cook and some other one. The other one is incredibly scientific, I will try to find it...

On Food and Cooking is half of the prize for the Thanksgiving contest.

We had a turkey breast with (stove-top-style) stuffing the other night, and being on this non-standard-sushi kick, I made "turkey sushi" wrapping up turkey inside some leftover stuffing. I think it needs to be served hot; my imagination is not doing good things with the thought of "cold stuffing." It looks like ..., well, it's not so bad after it's sliced into pieces. Reports have it that this results in too much stuffing for the amount of turkey present. But there are ... possibilities.

Whoa. I know doritos get sort of soggy and gross when wet; my guess is they'll sort of disappear and add body to the pot pie. But how will the flavor mix? You should definitely try it with Cool Ranch or some other nasty super-zesty flavor. I eagerly await your report.

Tada! http://www.instructables.com/id/E0UP5S2L43ETOML62Z/

This came out quite good, but I have to admit that I should have either used more Doritos, or just gone ahead and added Ranch. Hey, maybe Ranch instead of sour cream? I was tempted to add the Doritos to the crust... I will try that next time. Today I was afraid it would make the crust hard as a rock, and I chickened out. :)
