3 Simple Ways to
Share What You Make

With Instructables you can share what you make with the world — and tap into an ever-growing community of creative experts.

PhotosPhotos

Share one or more photos of a project, recipe, or whatever you've made, quickly and easily.

Step by StepStep-By-Step

Share your step-by-step photos with text instructions of what you made so others can do it too!

VideoVideo

Share your how-to video. You'll need your embed code from a video site such as YouTube.

Filters

This isn't so much a problem with the site or anything else like that. I was wondering, though, in the effort to enhance the instructables experience, could a site search with filters be a feasible thing? For instance, if I want to search a topic, but I want to filter out all K'nex associated pages, then a "-knex" would do it, kinda like a Google parameter. If it sounds good, let's see it happen! It would be a huge help in doing a search on any subject. What do you think?

. You already have the solution - use Google. See my Search FAQ for some info on using Google's site: option to limit your search to Ibles.
. According to ewilhelm, a new search engine is on the To Do list. If enough ppl complain, maybe it will get moved to the Action Items list.

. Decent search engine skills are as important as knowing how to hunt was for our ancestors (okay, a little hyperbole, but you get the idea). "site:instructables.com" will constrain the search to Instructables. "-knex" will filter out a lot of the K'nex stuff. The + operator will help you further refine your search. The Google search is much more powerful than the current search on Ibles - learn to use it and make your life easier.
