Forgetting cost and difficulty values when republishing an instructable

When you edit a previously published instructable and then click on publish link, the values of cost and difficulty are set to the middle, instead of previous saved values. If you don't change them again, then you are changing without notice that.

You shouldn't need to re-publish an Instructable once you've made changes to it. Simply edit it in the editor and click save in the upper right hand corner (on the new editor). That's it, the site will automatically update your Instructable with the changes you've made. When you go through the publish tab, it does seem to forget your slider positions. To be honest though, cost and difficulty are so infrequently used that it's not really a feature that we've found useful to support...more of an experiment I think. None the less, thanks for letting us know about this bug - we'll see what we want to do about it.

It would be nice if the interface made that more natural. As it is, it appears to the user as though we have to go through the "publish" cycle after updating.

By contrast, if I go back to a Forum Topic I created, and edit it (either to change the title or actually modify the content), it automatically flushes through, skipping all of the "publish" stages. Perhaps a similar branch could be developed for I'bles?
