Freaky Optical Illusion!

Here is a cool optical illusion I got in an email:

'The Brain'

This is quite amazing..

If you see this lady turning in clockwise you are using your right brain.
If you see it the other way, you are using left brain.
Some people do see both ways, but most people see it only one way.

See if you can make her go one way and then the other by
shifting the brain's current.

Experimentation has shown that the two different sides, or hemispheres,
of the brain are responsible for different manners of thinking.
The following table illustrates the differences between left-brain and
right-brain thinking:

Left Brain Right Brain

Logical Random
Sequential Intuitive
Rational Holistic
Analytical Synthesizing
Objective Subjective
Looks at Looks at
parts wholes

Most individuals have a distinct preference for one of
these styles of thinking. Some, however, are more
whole-brained and equally adept at both modes.
In general, schools tend to favor left-brain modes of
thinking, while downplaying the right-brain activities.
Left-brain scholastic subjects focus on logical thinking,
analysis, and accuracy. Right-brained subjects, on the
other hand, focus on aesthetics, feeling, and creativity.

If you look away, she may switch from one direction to the other.

I found that if I just look at her feet or relax and look at the floor
where the reflection shows, she will switch direction!

i think that this just made so every once in a while it switches directions
she just switched
Oh that is odd I kinda got these time when it would judder and change direction or kinda go back and forth...
I agree, it is not a smooth circular motion, so observing that, it makes it quite easy to make it change direction or even see it swing back and forth. But then, I have an odd way of perceiving things at times. . . especially optical illusions
Eh it's a simple enough illusion, I checked out the propertes and gues that there are two counter rotating people going back and forth, the brain percieves it's preffered rotation which is connected the used side... Why I seem to switch and jump is a bit odd...
I don't know, I know I can switch its "direction" at will, but if I watch it long enough, without attempting to switch it, it reverses itself, and I start seeing it going the other way. Maybe my brain gets tired of seeing it one way and switches off a portion and turns on the other? *shrug*
odd theory but it sounds like a reasonable one...
well, I know for sure if one does not think an object is "right there on the table", and they go looking on the table for it, there is a good possibility they will not see what is right there in front of them. I have experienced this so many times I am embarrassed by it :- )

Stand far away from it (about 10 feet) and start to close and blur your eyes while staring at her feet. If you then focus her moving the opposite direction it does. Then fully open your eyes again. Amazing
Hmm, I can change it at will. 180o counterclockwise, 180 o clockwise, back and forth. Sometimes it stops for a half second, then changes direction when I think it.
