Halloween Contest
Our favorite holiday of the year is coming up! That's right, Halloween is just around the corner and we can hardly wait.
Of course, we'll also be having a Halloween Contest to celebrate. We'll be announcing the details and prizes soon, but don't feel the need to hold back on posting any great Halloween-themed Instructable. Any Instructable that has been posted since the end of the last Halloween contest can be entered. That's Nov. 10, 2008 or later.

Nope. And they won't be in this one either.
There's an Easter Prank Instructable of how to make an egg that you can't pick up. Would harmless fun like that be alloud?
Easter != Halloween.<br /><br />You'd have to change it a lot and then you'd might as well just make a new Instructable.<br />

I was thinking of things like that, as in not Easter eggs but harmless fun... Nice coding reference. Haven't done much in a while so I was scratching my head for a second.

Our church does Trunk N Treat for Halloween and with my husband being the pastor, we have to participate. We had been planning all year to go as Discworld Igor and Igorina but the committee decided that they wanted church members to either have fun or bible related costumes. My first idea was my wheelchair and my upper body as a flower and my head and back as a butterfly with my husband as a butterfly catcher. He did not like that idea. He came up with wearing pajamas and carrying large teddy bears and over sized bottles. Do you have any ideas on how I can disguise my chair as a playpen or crib or something else? Most of ya'll seem to be so creative. I can bake and cook but I do not have much creativity. Thank you for at least listening to me. eetzel

By that logic you could dress up as satan himself, since he's in the Bible, too. Not sure if the church would approve of that!!!

Off-topic (like that ever stopped me!), but have you seen this?
What about enclosing the chair in boxes / sheets of (decorated) card, and calling yourself a robot?
Kiteman: If Igor and Igorina are out, I'm not sure the others will fit the committee's requirements either. ;) eetzel: perhaps you should convert your chair into an ark, and cover it with (pairs of) stuffed animals? Give your husband a hat with a dove carrying an olive branch, and a rainbow shirt.

Ach, I find it bizarre that churches have events on Hallowe'en.
I know they do it to "dilute" the "devil worship" of the normal Hallowe'en, but (to UK eyes) it makes them look seriously naf.
How do you reckon they'd react to a Dalek or Davros?

I think that trunk r treat is ruining halloween. When I was a kid everyone decorated their houses and it was a lot of fun to get scared making your way to the door to get candy. Those are some cool memories when you look back. Now everyone is a church in a big circle. I took my little boy out last year where I used to go and there were only two houses decorated and most of the houses were empty. I think that it is a shame that churches decided to try and take over a holiday that should have nothing to do with them...just as they did with the druids and made it all hallows eve. Its one of the reasons that our world is becoming stagnant; we don't encourage imagination in children and force the harsh reality of life on them too early!! Ever heard of checking a kid's candy and I don't know...going around with your child? I do. I will be decorating and making and instructible for homemade skeletons and zombies.

We don't do it to celebrate or dilute Halloween. We do the Trunk n Treat to give kids a safe place to trick or treat. You can no longer take kids around a strange neighborhood for candy. So you take them to family's houses and to various churches, fire stations, police stations and the like. That way you have a better chance of the candy be unadultered. Also your children are less likely to be snatched or exposed to child predators.
Cool, Uk doesn't really do Halloween so i have no need for a costume, maybe a history of halloween ible
