COMMUNITY : INSTRUCTABLES HELP


Help please. Published by mistake - need to move it all.

Help! I published a question - a request for help - as an Instructable and just put it in the Tech section. Now all the comments say I was wrong, that I should have published in the FORUMS. Oh, I didn't know. I just started with "Submit" and ended with "Publish" and now all the little old ladies in tennis shoes are circling for the kill. I had no idea I was breaking a taboo; I just wanted to ask for help. PLEASE tell me if I can remove my whole Instructable from where it is and put it into FORUMS. Is it possible to drag & drop the whole thing, pictures included? Or do I have to do each little thing all over again? (My Instructable is entitled: "Question on using a Peltier/TEC device for air temperature control - Help please")

Thank you all. I moved everything into the Forums, so now I shall try to kill this Instructable. Kill it, stomp on it, set fire to it and curse it to be reborn as a newt fancier on a newtless planet.

. BTW, great job on what you put up as an iBle. Once you figure out how to rig the Peltier, just enter the new info and re-publish. For some tips on formatting your msgs, see my Orangeboard (click on my nick, then scroll down).

. A minor faux pax, but not a sin. I think you're over-reacting to the suggestions to publish as a forum msg vs. an iBle. I didn't see anyone getting nasty. . As to how to get rid of the iBle, contact someone on staff (use the About link at the bottom of the page) and they can unpublish it until you make it into a full-fledged iBle.

Thanks much NachoMahma. I see an "Unpublish" button available to me in my Instructable, but I really do want to publish it as it is now - a request for help. But I now understand I should publish it in the Forums. My question now is... is there some way to just drag'n'drop the whole thing into Forums??? Otherwise I guess I would have to re-do all the titles, commentaries, pictures and picture notes all over again.

The answer is : No, but you could post a link to your unpublished instructable (it is still accessible with a link to its adress), and peoples from the forum will be able to access it and comment it.

"Unpublish" does not mean "delete".
When you don't publish it (or unpublish it) the instructable still exists into your account, but is not published in the list of published instructables ...

I saw you created an other topic in the forum, where you copied and pasted the text from your instructable. NachoMahma gave you a reply.
If you still want, you could edit your other topic, and insert the link to your unpublished instructable :

. I've only made one iBle, so I'm not very familiar with how it operates. I don't think you can easily transfer info between the iBles and forums, but there may be a way.
