How do I hack a postage scale? so my arduino can read the weight?

I need to hack a small postage like scale so that my arduino can weigh something?  looking to weigh something in the 0-5 pound range.
There are many scales out there, here is one:

I look to adafruit for such questions.

Here's an answer: http://www.ladyada.net/learn/scale/
You're assuming there is an accessible serial output, the OP's doesn't seem to have one.
Not quite. I was assuming that he hadn't bought one yet. The link was to point him in the direction of scales that have a serial output as an alternative.
Open it up. There'll be a strain gauge inside, connected to an amplifier. The output of he amp will be sent to a ADC, or straight to the processor. You need to aim to find the output of the sensing amp. It MIGHT be a recognisable part.
