How to use a transistor with many LEDs

I was wondering I want to 1 pin on my ATtiny2313 to turn on 10 LEDs at once, but I know that I should have that many LEDs hooked up to the same pin. Can I use a simple transistor (3904, 2N222A) as a switch? Sorry I am very ignorant about transistors and capacitors :D

No apologies needed. We all have to learn and learn by asking. The attached drawing shows a simple circuit with a 2N2222 TO-18 NPN transistor to drive the 10 LEDs. The 2N2222 can handle up to 800 ma and the 10 LEDs should be less than 100 ma at 5 volts.
