Imagenotes Now Work in Slideshows

Imagenotes now work in slideshows. This is especially cool for highlighting stuff in your workshop slideshows. For now, this only works in new slideshows -- adding imagenotes to your old ones doesn't work.

See this one for an example:

OK I have lurked on instructables for a while now. Decided to join tonight. Now It may be the middle of the night for me right now but I can't for the life of me figure out how to add a slideshow. Do I have to us a different site first? Like my space or twitter? Thanks in advance for any help.

The short answer: Look for the submit on the menu bar. Click it to get a menu of things to do. You need to upload your images first to Instructables. You can then go back and submit/create a new slideshow or instructable which will use the newly uploaded images in your library. When you have finished creating/editing, you "publish" it and submit it for consideration in a contest if desired. Good luck.

...and just reply or submit a new forum topic if you have any questions. You'll get lots of help.

I think the 3 second time per slide is to quick, perhaps 5 seconds or 7?

...or a way to set it ? (hmm, that would require the code to execute on our machines...if it is server-side JavaScript, this would be harder...)

Can you make it so that the slideshow pauses while you are mousing over the image note box? Just to give yourself a little more time to read, perhaps.

Ah, so I'm not the only one for whom the controls have disappeared!

my controls are present, I just think it'd be a cool feature. an auto-pause where the slide show resumes after you mouse off of the note.
Dec 8, 2008. 6:16 PMGoodhart says:
Yes, that would be a handy feature, for sure.
And using the MouseOver class isn't too hard....but if there are other pressing things to take care of, it may be awhile ;-)

Hi, Eric. Just out of curiosity... You wrote, "you can't adjust the width, and our width is wider than the average blog." In your XML fragment, both the OBJECT and EMBED tags havewidth and height attributes.

If I change those attribute values, won't the Flash player automatically rescale the individual image sizes (the way YouTube does the video)?

Got it; thanks for the explanation!

Ok, anyone else using Opera browser not get the imagenotes? The yellow boxs only appear randomly and no notes to speak of.
