Inappropriate Ads

Hey, I had an inappropriate (in my opinion) google-ad show up. I was searching forums for "chat room" and an ad for Horny Swinger Sex Chat came up. The site was SwingerNet.com . Aside from the fact that I thought it was an ad for a sex-swing (which would at least be interesting), it really goes a bit beyond PG-13. Here's the URL: http://www.swappernet.com/sn/Freesignup.aspx?afl=6g_ssc24&gclid=CIb94-uk25gCFQrAGgodwHJ-dw

I been told I wuz ugly enuff to stand on th' tracks and grin and it would make freight train take a detour up a dirt road !!

Hello there good friend. Thank you for providing me link to adult website. (LOL I talk like this when I'm in perv mode)

that 3rd chick is UGLY... Im not even sure if she's a chick...
skunkbait (author)  KentsOkay5 years ago
Yeah! Ugly people should not be allowed to be naughty!
Yeah, it ruins it for the ugly people looking at the naughty stuff... and elsewhere on cable there is a storm about to brew on evolution on BBC, coverage on vegetarianism on Animal Planet, and good old wrestling...take your pick
Hahaha. There should be a "breaking forums news" topic that tells of the flames, wars, truces and such on the forums.
Your armor seems to be singed again. I'll just dust off the banhammer and get it ready again. *sigh*
It is sharper than any shark's tooth, and heavier than 9 elephants. My trigger finger has poison ivy on it that no calamine lotion can touch. Users! Beware and do not spam.

Feeling dangerous Adrian? *cowers in corner*
That's right, you better run!
skunkbait (author)  Lithium Rain5 years ago
Too scared to run..... *crawls away, whimpering softly*
Such a wimp.... EYUP ADDIE!!! Fancy a burger'n fries?
I do not fancy a burger'n fries. Do you fancy a whoopin'?
skunkbait (author)  Lithium Rain5 years ago
I dunno. Would it be a fancy whoopin' , or just your average everyday garden-variety whoopin'?
A whoopin' like none you've ever seen.
skunkbait (author)  Lithium Rain5 years ago
Ok. Sounds good. I hereby volunteer Rocket Sci to accept that whoopin'!
Awesome. It's been almost 20 minutes since I last gave an overconfident teenage male a whoopin'.

>Looks around<

Where is he?
A whoopin'? Where does when get whoopin'?
Where does one get a whoopin', you ask? Why, right here!
OO OO, I'm so scared.... Heck I've got half a foot and at least 15 pounds on you... Your only chance would be if I took pity on you and let you whoop me....
Pfft. Brains conquer brawn. It's all in how you use what you've got. And how would you know what you have on me?
Ooo! You gonna brain me? I'm psychic darlin'
Whatever, lame brain. :P
what a load of bunk....
C'mere and say that!
I sez, WHAT A LOAD OF BUNK!!
>Punches your lights out<
Lights! >grabs flashlight< Camera! >grabs rope< ACTION!! >tackles and ties up Addie< Now what....
So sorry to disappoint, that was merely a cardboard cutout of me. Pardon me while I defeat you.
>tackles the REAL Addie, ties up
Now what?
Umm I Don't Know....
Seems to be you're like a dog with a car - ya don't know what to do now that you have what you've been pursuing.
I know! I'll come rescue you! >goes out side, changes outfit< >triumphantly bursts back in< >cuts Addie loose< TA DA!!

Coverage on vegetarianism on Animal Planet??? Are they trying to convince lions to rethink their diets? And good old wrestling? Talk about ugly people doing naughty things!
I'm just going with the herd but part of the argument might be bull.
skunkbait (author)  caitlinsdad5 years ago
Bull? Is he one of the wrestlers?
I thought he meant Bull Durham...
skunkbait (author)  Goodhart5 years ago
Anybody else out there remember "Bull of the Woods"?

Hmm?
Bull from Night Court, that was when TV was good.

Richard Moll! He was brilliant. I think he also had a bit part in "SHirley & Laverne" as a hoodlum or something.
I Concur...
exactly
I mean there is such a wider variety of less uglyness available...
lol

I thought that was fixed? The worst I've seen for a long time are those slightly creepy 3d-avatars-in-their-underwear adverts.
You think they are creepy too?
Yeh, I mean, they're probably supposed to be sexy, but I look and it's eww! They're about 12 years old!
Indeed, it seems targeted for the pre-teen - early teen "my bff jill" crowd
Even so - if they were photos, I could get arrested for looking at them!
I don't think I could...
It's the badly-written paedophilia laws over here - an art gallery owner was prosecuted for displaying a photograph of a young nude, even though it was taken decades ago and had been accepted as "proper art" before the laws were enacted. The traditional "baby's first bath" photo can get a parent a visit from social services.

There are also extra laws for teachers in the UK. For instance, the legal age of consent is 16, but having relations with anybody under 18, even if they do not go to a school you teach in, will cost you your career.
What happened to your face?
It didn't work on mine.....so I put it back...
skunkbait (author)  Kiteman5 years ago
Yeah, that was a little EWWW.

Adblock plus FTW FYI!

What is it with you and inappropriate adds?
skunkbait (author)  KentsOkay5 years ago
I seem to be a magnet for that sort of thing.
I wonder if it's mind set or all of those google searches kicking in....

Try posting this in the bugs forum, perhaps? Maybe that's where Eric meant stuff like this to go...

And, this isn't the first time this has happened, although I've never seen any dirty ads, I've heard of others who have.
skunkbait (author)  Labot20015 years ago
Yeah, this is only the second time I've seen something I really felt was inappropriate. And considering it is the internet, I figure Ibles has a pretty good record of keeping the undesirable stuff out.
kelseymh5 years ago
A few months ago, Eric posted a Forum topic where you could provide feedback on such issues. Yeah, I know that's too vague to be useful, but it's the best I've got.
skunkbait (author)  kelseymh5 years ago
Yeah, I was looking for that but couldn't find it.
Right. I tried scrolling through "all" of Eric's forum topics, sorted by "recent," and gave up when I got to ones before I joined I'bles. Sigh....
Man, that Skunkbait geezer is losing it. He created the topic himself...

:-)
Augh! Seriously, Eric had posted a topic months ago, including a mechanism where you could capture which server had generated the inappropriate ad and send it off to Staff, and now I can't find it :-(
I think it was an instructable.
It was in response to my topic. HERE

His comment further down explains things.
Including this Link to pick out which ad suppliers are responsible.

Haha!
I forget which firefox add on it is, but one of them lets you know what website its coming from. Maybe adblock? Anyways, I remember someone from ibles saying that the web address is what helps them most.
Goodhart5 years ago
That's not a good sign.....are they going to start to stalk you know?
skunkbait (author)  Goodhart5 years ago
The best part is that it was on my office computer!
Yeah, depending on how well they track things...that can be very bad. Where I work, a third party records all of that stuff, and that would have raised all kinds of flags....kind of scares me about visiting here from work anymore.
