ty for both replies i went too halfords they told me a smaller self healing inner of 700x 38 which unless i installed it wrong i was left with 2-3inches of inner tube to fold over on its self so i think wheels are miss fited and not 700 but smaller wheel.

on the tyre it is marked as 700x45 but the inner tubes that came with the bike was blank .

i have had nothing but trouble trying to get an inner tube to fit an halfords wont do anything about it. so i got a £350 bike with no wheels sitting on floor lol .

MOTO IS NEVER GO TO HALFORDS EVER. THEY ARE USELESS FECKS OF AN EXSISTENCE OF AN ENTITY IM A SHAMED TO HAVE PUT MY FEET IN THERE PREMISES. THEY DONT MAKE BLEACH STRONG ENOUGH TO GET THE I GOT SCREWD SMELL AND FEELING FROM ME LOL.

sorry but it to hard to say anything positive and constructive about halfords

Maybe look for a 27" tube. This size tends to be sold in bigger sizes.

If you can't get that, maybe get smaller tyres ? Would probably save a load of hassle.

If you had a few inches of spare innertube left it probably wasn't seated right. Which bike was it ?

It may work but it also may make the tire bead come off the rim! I would try it. You have only a tube to loose. Make sure the tire stays on the rim when inflating tho. It will go bang if its not on!!!!!

Ask the Halfords staff - if they say "yes", and it all goes wrong, you should still be able to get a refund because of bad advice.
