Instructable not showing up in recent or search?

Hi,

I published this instructable today a few hours ago http://www.instructables.com/id/Make-a-cheap-disposable-camera-capacitor-bank/ and it still has not shown up in the recent list for technology/electronics where I posted it.

It doesn't even show up in search when I copy and paste the title of the instructable directly into the search bar! Something must be wrong here...

What could be causing this? The instructable defiantly is published so that is not the issue.

The most likely (99.999%) answer is that it has been caught up in the site's automated filters.

Relax - as soon as a human being gets a chance to clear the filters, it will hit the public lists.

In the meantime, feel free to send the URL to your friends, or advertise it via the usual social media routes.

Thanks for the reply. That makes sense I guess.

Just wondering, I added copyright markings to most of the pictures. Could this be the cause? The filters thinking its some kind of spam?

Its just I have seen a few of my pictures appear elsewhere online so I thought I would put a small copyright water in some of the pictures.

I could remove the copyright watermark from most of the images if needed, but there are one or two I would like to keep that info in as I am quite proud of one or two of them

The filters work in mysterious ways, but I think it is largely on key words and phrases in the title or text.

The actual triggers are a secret, to prevent spammers finding a workaround.

Better that the occasional proper post gets a delay than the whole site disappear under spam.

In that case I think the safety warning page I included must have triggered it.

Its an electronics based instructable that requires a bit of past experience and common sense so the warning page has words such as "injury" and "explosion".

Oh well, I will wait until tomorrow and see what happens, if it still has not shown up I will post back here. Is there anywhere on here where one can contact the site staff directly for issues like this?

There's currently emails going around the office about this problem. We're trying to figure out what's going on.

Still hasn't shown up yet. I take it that this is not a filter issue then?

No, not a filter issue (though that may be part of the problem in this instance). We started noticing yesterday that the recent feeds weren't showing recent things. Which I'm pretty sure isn't how it's supposed to work. Unfortunately we found it right before the weekend, which means it'll start getting looked at on Monday.

Ok, thanks for the reply.

Just a question for when it does eventually get published, will it show up in the recent feeds first box? Or will it appear halfway down the page as it was published by me yesterday?

I tried some tricks I know, and changed the publish date to today, to ensure that it would make it to the top of the feed. I didn't want to mention anything earlier as it takes time for all of our cache to update and I didn't know if it would work.

I'm just glad it did!

Have fun, and let me know if publishing a day late causes you any issues, and I'll do my best to take care of whatever those might be.
