Inventing on Vacation: Wounded Fish

This idea came to me after a day of fishing (I lost my best lure, but through the miracle of snorkeling, found it.) This seems like a simple idea, and I'm surprised it hasn't been invented yet. It is an improvement on the lures that supposedly look like a wounded fish.

The idea is simple. A small, sealable "refill tube" connects to a hollow area inside the lure. This is the reservoir for fish blood. A thin membrane on one side of the lure allows the blood to seep out. You refill by filling an eyedropper with blood and inserting it into the refill tube. (I'm being brief right now because this is the third time I've typed this and I'm getting tired.)

Does this already exist?
Yes, sorry. on the opposite tack, here's a lure designed to hold live bait lightening bug lure.
well that sucks

Great minds think alike. Oh well.

That lightning bug lure is pretty neat though.

Novel idea, but I'm not sure how practical it would be to collect and store fish blood to refill the lure. Every time you reeled in the lure you'd have to refill it unless you had a perfect membrane that let it bleed slowly... It's a start, but the concept needs more thought.
also before you cast out blood is dripping all over you you need like a film to store the blood that dissolves in water

. Great idea. I've never seen one, but I'm not a fisherman. . I think you can do without the membrane - just something else to plug up or break. Size the refill tube so that your attractant slowly "drips" out on retrieval.

I see your point, and that could work just as well. I was thinking if the membrane was easily replaceable, a fish breaking it would add to the effect.
Or just soak a small sponge in fish-juice and wedge it into a hollow you've dremelled out of the lure? Apart from the shark family, do many fish hunt by small / taste?
