Issue with line spacing in lists

I'm having a really annoying issue with formatting while writing Instructables. I'm sure someone else has complained before, but there's little else for me to do besides bringing attention to the issue.

When writing instructables on a PC (Chrome, Windows 10), I'm having very annoying issues with line spacing when copying paste from another window. Most of the time it is simply copying text from some prior instructable I've wrote. It is especially problematic in lists. The issue is that sometimes the spacing between lines doubles after copying text, and even in subsequent lines the issue persists. This makes consistent formatting impossible. It seems to be due to copying the text from other formatted sources, but there are still conflicts when I try to copy and paste unformatted text. I'm not exactly sure what the trigger for the issue is. I have posted an image where no space between lines exists for the first 3 bullets of the list, but for the following lines (after pasting the third bullet point), all the spacing is double spaced.

It does appear that it shows correctly (consistent formatting) when the instructable is posted and viewed online from a PC, but when viewed on a mobile device, the formatting gets messed up again and shows inconsistently. The issue also seems to sometimes involve different font sizing.

Anyway, I just wanted to mention this since I'm finding it very annoying. I'd want to be able to have more control on the formatting, and also being able to copy formatted text (bold, underline...) from other prior instructables. But for the moment with just not having to deal with the line spacing option I'd be satisfied.

Hi! The problem probably comes from the html code. Click on "</>" in the text editor, and check how many tags <p> </p> and <ul> </ul> there are. You probably have many lists or paragraphs automatically generated when you copy/paste the text.

To fix it, try to delete all the tags <p>, </p>, <u>, </u> inside the list. Your list should look like the second picture attached. It should start with <p>, <ul>, then the text with <li> ... </li>, and finish with </ul>, </p>.

Does it help?

Some additional details:

Being able to copy formatting from one Instructable to another requires copying the html, which is one of the benefits of pro membership. If a person has unredeemed pro codes, they should apply those to unlock this feature in the editor.

The site's engineers are working replacing the text editor part of the editor tool. No current timeframe on that, but it's on the radar and will have an update at some point.

I've had the same issue. As a fix, I cut/pasted my list into Notepad and then into instructables. Yep, it's an extra step but it fixed the weird spacing.

It's good to know I'm not the only person with this issue. Perhaps they should look into it. I see the value in limited formatting to keep formatting between instructables similar, but not even being able to have almost any control over formatting is annoying.
