Katy Perry shows off LED dress

Illuminated clothing has popped up several times here on Instructables. There's the turn signal jacket, EL wire, and Fire Skirt just to name a few. Now the lit up look is getting even more attention with Katy Perry sporting an LED-lit dress made by CuteCircuit. I wonder who will turn up in some bright outfit next?

The designer was heard to remark, "I lit a girl and I liked it."

I preferred the video clips to the music, just quietly, but I love the dress!

Seen her modeling that shank? That is enough to make me melt....
Kryptonite in reply to KentsOkayMay 12, 2010. 4:31 AM

I'd like to make my own switch-blade, not to use, but more as a "Look what I got in my bedroom!" kinda  thing.
KentsOkay in reply to KryptoniteMay 18, 2010. 8:44 PM
Heck I just bought one, 20 bucks. Cheap chinese stuff, but hey when i have a hundred bucks lying around to shell out for a real one i will.
Kryptonite in reply to KentsOkayMay 18, 2010. 11:17 PM
Nice. I really ought to Google something about them, I know absolutely nothing! Are both sides of the blade sharpened?
KentsOkay in reply to KryptoniteMay 21, 2010. 2:41 PM
nah, most switchblades are single edge. But i have PLENTY of double edgers
Kryptonite in reply to KentsOkayMay 21, 2010. 6:14 PM
The stilletto switchblades look quite nice...
KentsOkay in reply to KryptoniteMay 21, 2010. 6:56 PM
Yeah, as slick as many OTF's and stuff are, there be something about a good ol' Italian stiletto switchblade that oozes an aura of awesomeness...
Kryptonite in reply to KentsOkayMay 21, 2010. 8:37 PM
Remind me to check out Google patents to see if I can find it...
KentsOkay in reply to KryptoniteMay 22, 2010. 9:58 AM
For a schematic? I doubt there would be any patents out for the basic design, there are a ton of kits available.
Kryptonite in reply to KentsOkayMay 23, 2010. 12:44 AM
I think I'll buy a switch blade comb & take it apart to see how it works.
KentsOkay in reply to KryptoniteMay 24, 2010. 7:24 PM
I dunno ifi the comb would show off the locking mechanisms correctly
Kryptonite in reply to KentsOkayMay 25, 2010. 4:40 AM
Good point, but at least it will give a rough idea.

So far I've only found diagrams of side opening one sided switchblades. D:
KentsOkay in reply to KryptoniteMay 25, 2010. 8:27 PM
side opening switches are classic man! Try searching for Out THe Front, might ind  what you are after.
Kryptonite in reply to KentsOkayMay 26, 2010. 6:16 AM
I don't mind the side ones, but I like the symmetrical two sided blade look.
