Knex Concept: Multi-Staged Bow.

Well, I don't know whether this has been done before.

a design for a multi stage, railgun style bow.

It uses as many bows as you want linked up.

Here is a picture and how it works.

1. The trigger is pulled, letting go of the first bow's elastics.
2. The elastics catch on the bullet, propeling it forward.
3.When the bullet reaches here, the trigger will set off the next bow, boosting the bullet even more out of the barrel, 4.

This will be complicated to time as it will all happen in a fraction of a second. The key to make this work is to time the second bow to fire just after the first, like the SwagBoss. Even then it would take some fine-tuning to get right. Build it if you want, I don't have parts for something so big.

This idea is plausible but it would pretty much never work since the ammo would already be moving very fast by the time it got to the second trigger, so it would be almost impossible to time it right.

Unless i made it so that the first bow had much less power than the second. That might work...
That would be stupid though. If you did that you might as well have just one bow.

Jollex and perfect duck did this before.

Actually this design is very different from Perfect Duck's design since it uses a slingshot mechanism instead of a firing pin.

The railbow?

this could be done...
Someone already something like this, called the railbow, but it uses a nested system where the trigger releases a band that accelerates basically a small crossbow to the front and that shoots when it hits a certain point
not bad but complex
I know, most railguns are complex! its just the timings, if only i had a slo-mo camera!
