LED lighting help?!

I am in the process of building a jewelry armoire / box / chest (whatever you wish to call it) and I am wanting to add just two LED's that will come on when the door is opened on the jewelry box and they will go off when the door is closed. Having novice skills in electronics and handyman skills in woodworking I was wondering what I would need to accomplish this and if it could be battery powered...

While looking for supplies i stumbled upon this switch (Momentary 5A SPDT Lever Micro Switch). Would this suffice or would I need something different?
ACK! I should not post this late.... I get all turned around....the switch is a normally open switch (closes when pushed) BUT, can be wired normally closed also (which is what you want). *sigh* sorry if I have confused you any.....
It looks like it is a normally closed switch.

"Set this switch to turn on when the switch lever is depressed and turn off when the lever is released, or set it up the opposite way." Yet that last phrase does indicate you can wire it "normally open" also. A 5 amp switch is a bit of overkill but if it isn't high priced, it should work fine.

This could be fairly simple depending on how you want to rig the switch that turns on power. A refrigerator uses a pushbutton switch that is Normally closed, that is, on, when the button is "not" being pushed. Thus, closing the door which subsequently pushes the button, opens the switch and turns the light off by breaking the circuit.

I wouldn't use such a large switch as the refrigerator does, but the concept is the same.

Here at this link, you will find some instruction on various LED's and the resistor value(s) needed

Substitute a normally closed switch for the normally open one, and mount it in such a way that the lid/door pushes the switch when closing.

I'm assuming you want white leds, so you just hook up a momentary switch (normally closed, as in whenever you push down it doesn't let electricity flow), put a 150 ohm resistor in series, and then hook up 2 white LEDs in series. Power it off of a 9 volts battery.
