Lego Rpg or Other game

I was thinking of making a lego based rpg or some other game(like a strategy game). That will comprise of some basic rules and game workings that every one could play. I'm going to try and make it simple enough to be played easily but complex enough to keep people interested. I will also try to make sure that gaming equipment is kept to a minimum. So you don't need to go out and buy like a 100, 20 sided dice or something. If anyone is interested in helping or testing please say so. I could use all the help i could get. Please say if this is a bad idea though- i don't want to waste my time on it.

dude me and my brothers want to make one too since we literally have boxes full of legos. i want to make one that has a DnD pin and paper kind of feel but with a kind of heroscape like combat system so you could have pre made battles maps or have a system for randomly generating maps. also you could add different expansion rules for star wars or harry potter legos.

Sounds fun to me, but I'm old-school as far as RPGs go (my favourite system is Paranoia 2nd Edition).

Ask around your friends, especially those you play with. If they aren't interested, you're going to have a tough time developing it.

Keep your skill-set minimal and flexible, maybe points-based (brick based?)

Have a browse around the net for games with simple rules. Maybe there is one that you can adapt, or which your ideas can easily fit?

I used to play a game called S.I.M.P.L.E., which was only one photocopied side of A4, including sample play. I've tried googling for it, but I can't find it.

Of there's Risus, which I didn't come across until I had "grown out" of RPGs, but it looks good.

The most important thing, though, for any system, is how creative an adventure you can play - try putting together a very "light" framework of rules, especially character generation, skill-use, combat and damage, and then run your friends through a short, exciting adventure to see what they think - make notes as you play, get some feedback afterwards.

Anyway, good luck.
