Looking to buy 8-10 hour emergency candles anyone know where to buy some?

I am looking to buy some 8-10 hours emergency candles for a survival pack I'm putting together. Does anyone know where to buy some cheaply? I don't want to have to buy it off Amazon or eBay.

Glow-sticks could be a formidable option for a 10 hour candle, I've seen some around in stores like Walmart (just like canucksgirl's suggestion, Target, or places like Rei , or Sporting shoes.
Seconded. The prepackaged "survival kits" I've reviewed (primarily three-day earthquake kits) all contain glow-sticks rather than candles. They have the distinct advantage of not requiring fire or dry weather to function :-)

Even dollar stores carry glow sticks, usually in the toy or party-favor section. They don't last as long as the more expensive "camping" or "survival" kind (the "magic wands" I bought my four-year-old barely lasted overnight!), but you can buy a lot of them for very little money.
I agree that glow sticks are good for a survival kit (in a warmer climate); but I prefer the longer lasting candles (for winter), as they can provide some heat, and can be used to boil small amounts of water, or to heat up food. (That's why I have both).

That's a good point you make, though glow sticks can be good for a colder climate because they will not get put out by the rain. Candles are good for summer because you don't have to worry about them getting put out by rain. I should just get both because they are both good for different seasons. I think I'll have to go with buying both, just in case. Thank you, everyone for your help. It is very much appreciated.
Its a great idea to carry both, the more the merrier!

STAFF: Recommend moving topic to WANTED.

Blueblobs2, you might want to try places like Walmart (in their outdoors section), or try an Army Surplus, or other Survival Store.
