Make me This

I posted a very detailed post of what I wanted help building, but it is not showing up even after 5 days. So I am trying a super simple post with just the two pics below.

Can someone please help me make this?

If you had access to a lathe and a dividing head you could make this pretty easily out of metal. Looks like all of the gears are probably the same pitch so you could use the same hobb to cut all of them. Good luck.

I think I am going to make a version of this, but not this. I am thinking of using the same type of materials (if possible) but it will be a friction car instead with a gorgeous fly wheel.

Hi onyx,

i don't know if you already have an solution for you're "problem" but i would be happy to help you,

i saw on the original site also an example from the car made from plastic with an 3d printer this would be much more easier, and much cheaper (about 1euro/cm3)
or even cheaper with laser cutter. (sheet(300*600) for 5 euro)

if you really want to build it from metal you could use a cnc milling device and maybe a lathe for the wheels, this would be more time consuming and more expensive, but would still be possible,
I'm an 1 year dutch student mechanical engineering at TU Delft and if you're still interested i would be happy to help you build it

send me a PM if you're interested,,

gr. Ewoud

p.s. I'm new to this forum and don't know exactly how it works,

I am still very interested in making a version of this for myself. I am sorry for the delay in responding to your post. Could you possibly email me going forward?

My email is adam@adamabdalla.com and my cell is 337-288-5411

I have been looking at various options and have a few ideas that I can share via email. I actually purchased the plastic version so I have that in my possession for inspiration!
Well, I could make it for you, but there is some expensive machining involved.

I sent you a PM with my contact info. Please contact me to discuss when you are able.

Thanks.
PM'd back.

Anyone know where I can find a place that will machine parts that I need for this? I figure that I will start with a wood model and then once I have the ratios correct, I will move towards getting some metal parts machined.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

It is apparently just a simple clockwork mechanism, albeit a beautifully-machined one. It shouldn't be too difficult to find a suitable mechanism design online, or you might try your local library. I know mine has a couple texts that are simply collections of useful mechanisms.

If you are looking at local machine shops, chances are there's some geezer there who's made one of everything and he can help you out. Also might check local vocational schools (the geezers take night classes there to use the machine shop).

Your other posts appear on your profile but not in the forums, though your bug report appears normally. They likely tripped the Great and Mysterious Filters for some unknown and illogical reason and will appear next time HQ sweeps them out.

I figure I may be able to get some parts machined. With a side view of each size I can come close to figuring out how to do it, but not sure on gear size, etc..

Thanks. for the heads up on the website, I will look into it.
