PLEASE TELL ME!!!!!!! THANKS!!!!
As much as I deal with electronics, and as much as I do with computers at work, I still feel uncomfortable about cracking open the case of my Gateway 4016. I have a slot for a fulsized HD and would love to install the spare one I have for use as a backup drive, but I will have to get over the fear first :-)
The last thing I need is for the only computer I have, to go down and become useless because I did "something".
Oh and I would NEVER blame anyone for something I did, even if they told me it was ok to do it.....if I DO it, it is my fault :-)
Ok, my pc had a modem card installed in it when i got it, but i need the pci port. Can i just take it out? If i do, will anythin software-wise be effected??? THANKZ!!!!!!!!!
You can probably check with the manufacturers online however, to make sure.
. If it has a 2.66GHz PentiumD*, I don't see much reason to upgrade the processor or overclock. If you need more power than that, you probably need a newer computer.
. More RAM is usually your best bet for better performance.
