New flat flexible speakers

A new kind of speaker has been designed by engineers at the University of Warwick - a flat one!

From http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/newsandevents/pressreleases/new_flat_flexible:

"A groundbreaking new loudspeaker, less than 0.25mm thick, has been developed by University of Warwick engineers, it's flat, flexible, could be hung on a wall like a picture, and its particular method of sound generation could make public announcements in places like passenger terminals clearer, crisper, and easier to hear."

Projected uses include applications in advertising, automotive, and public address systems.

Shiny. But I agree - I definitely DON'T want advertisements speaking to me. There are already too many disconnected voices in my head! ;)
