Opinions about "Food Porn"

Is that a phrase you find offensive?

No need to clarify your reasoning... unless you'd like to.  ;-)

Can I ask what prompted the question?

lol... Here's a sneak peek at of my latest (cookie porn?) recipe... and the (unfinished) intro write up:

Beyond seductive chocolate and tempting toffee... beyond provocative peanut butter and beguiling bananas... way beyond.

Chunky Monkey Squares are more than just cookies. They're an addictive, passionate and lustful expression of desirous cookie love... if there is such a thing. ;-)

Crap, the pic isn't loading. 8-/

These are some of kitemans people across the pond. so some of the humor may be lost.
I think you may get a kick out of it.

I could access this message from school. (shhh don't tell anyone I was checking email at lunch)

hehehehe... your secret is safe with me... thanks!!!
Not offensive and I love it. :D

That's a good thing...  because I jumped a little out of character and used it! ;-D

Cookie Porn:  Chunky Monkey Squares

Not offensive (in fact, I think it can be an accurate term), but it's filter-unfriendly.

I bet that, if I tried to read this topic at school tomorrow, it would blocked.
bajablue (author)  Kiteman2 years ago
Noted.
ITT prediction: omg porn isn't offensive! all the participants consent! femnazis!11
bajablue (author)  Lithium Rain2 years ago
I guess it depends! ;-)
artfulann2 years ago
Hmmm...per kiteman's comment, I'll have to try and access this from school to see if it gets past the filters!
Otherwise, I don't find it offensive. It's just a simple little word that does convey a message.
bajablue (author)  artfulann2 years ago
Did it make it past the filters, Ann?
In my effects debates and comparative essays I used the phrase torture porn a fair few times in reference to the sub-genre of horror...

Apparently it's board approved...

The folly of youth! ;-D

hmmm.. i'd say "not really"..
it did made me jumped the first time i saw it.. (not too long ago)
but i don't really get the point.. what does it actually mean?
mouth-watering picture of food? i'd still wont call that porn.. :/
bajablue (author)  londobali2 years ago
I'm a little old-school, so it's a weird food-related phrase for me, too!
i always feel uncomfortable ordering chicken especially from a black female.
they always ask do you like dark meat or light? breast or thigh?
bajablue (author)  thematthatter2 years ago
lol... maybe because I'm a woman, but I sure never thought of chicken in that way! ;-)

Yeah, it's gross. To me anyway. It couples TWO things we get more than enough of in the States. I think the KFC Double Down is plenty nasty without tying it to an image of a couple of meth heads being filmed in rut swapping STDs for cash. I guess the idea is that over-eating or eating exotic stuff is sexy. It's just not to me. Food and sex are awesome, they just aren't 'hip' or chic. I don't mean to be rude or offensive. This is a question regarding pornography (porn) so I am assuming an adult audience.

Thanks for commenting, alex. I appreciate you for sharing your honest opinion!
