my daughter and my grandkids came to visit for a week...that was the greatest. i was knitting myself a coat of many colors (have a picture of it) cuz I didnt have a winter coat that fit anymore and I figured it beats a blank and gets rid of extra yarn at the same time..came downstairs Christmas morning...2 coats for me. hahaha 1 is faux mink so nothing died for me to look good, and the other is a mckey lankin insulated jacket. work or play I am covered. butterfly jeans, and butterfly earrings with a jewelry box to keep them in.

Oh, i should point out that my main present will be a new alu iMac, which i getting for myself in january when they update them!
not lucky, i did work for my money.. and most the cost will come from selling my old mac

I'm considering a macbook more and more each day. I don't know if I can justify buying one though. How long will a typical mac run before it'll need updating/replacing?

If you treat a apple well, pretty much forever. We still use G3's on a daily basis and they run no problems. When buying new it might be worth paying for apple care for the first few years as if they ever break it costs a lot!
i agree with what joem says - well looked after they hold there value -my iMac, was 5 years old, and i sold it for £500 (i paid £1000 for it new). I have a macbook myself and its a great little laptop, very speedy for its price range.

Jace and I set a $50 limit - he got me a giftcard for reprodepot.com. I bought lots of cute Japanese fabrics and a pattern. :) My friend Jeff got me this really awesome wall hanging from a flea market - it's tacky and embroidered and has a kitty on it! Michelle got me a shirt. Lola made me a journal. Jace's mom got me a sweater. And that's it! A very minimalist Christmas. I just baked cookies for everyone with Seth and put money on Jace's PSN account. I didn't want to participate in the feeding frenzy this year because it really bothers me. I might still make some plushies for people, but everything else I make won't match up to the giant stuffed moustache I made for the MANsion. :P

My big present was a Fuji Finepix s8100fd, since my old Dimage is showing its age (5 years and 30,000++ photos). It has Face Detection, but the big pluses are the super macro mode and it doesn't make an annoying tickticktick when it takes videos. The boys got a Wii and some accessories and games - that was a real coo, since they had no idea they were getting one. They nearly shouted themselves hoarse when the opened the present with a spare remote in it. I bought Kitewife a thick fluffy fleece, and a digital photoframe keyring.
A new pair of overalls, a suede winter jacket, two pairs of suspenders, Homer-Simpson pajama pants, a Bob Dylan song book, long-johns, and some cash from my parents and grandparents. The best thing though was having my wife and kids, my parents and my grandparents (on my mother's side) all together. I lost an aunt and a grandmother just a few weeks ago, and my mom's father probably won't be around long. So here's my bit of advice: Kid's if you need to fight with your parents that's normal, just make sure you skip the arguing around the holidays. Always be kind and respectful to your grandparents. MAKE sure they tell you what life was like when they were kids. Someday you'll wish you still had them around. Make sure you're at peace with your siblings. They're your closest genetic kin (you may need a kidney someday), and they will probably be there long after your parents and grandparents are gone.

Yep! Or "You'll pee the bed if you keep playing with that fire!" I got that one all the time. Fires were my favorite part of camping and winter and generally living in the country. :P
Yes I remember that too (and I had lots of fun with normal fire when young too....come to think of it, drinking coffee would make one pee the bed more so then playing with fire.....maybe we need to start a new set of sayings LOL.
We tried that with my sister. She started drinking Coffee at age two. Now, 26 years later, she's about 5'11" and works part time for a coffee importer.
:-) I know, I started around 14, and it kept me down to only 5' 11" too ;-)

Haha, yeah, so as my laptop's ram, it runs too slow as well... It has 512MB and 30GB of hard drive space. My dad's desktop computer's ram had 5GB and 2TB (2000GB) of hard drive space!!!!

A blender :D, an external hard drive, Super Mario Galaxy for the wii, and some other random stuff. Oh and also this really cool little elephant statue thingy that will go really well with the my new room.
