Posting go into the digital nirvana - AGAIN

I just finnished a lenghy reply, hit the "Make Comment" button and after a short wait my posting was gone, just totally gone!
Going back in the browser did not bring it back either.
To make things worse I could not write this complaint in Firefox as it is impossible to select the categories, so instead I had to fire up Chrome to make this posting.

This exact behaviour of posting going lost during the sending period happend before and was supposed to be fixed.
Yes, I did the usual troubleshooting of browser cache, history, dns and so on - but that is of no use anyway one you lost a posting.
I don't know about others but I am starting to get sick and tired of bugs making the proper use of this website impossible.
Am also sick and tired of being forced to create my postings and Ibles in an external editor just because Instructables collects more bugs than users at some stages.

Said it before and say it again: If you can't fix the damn Autodesk software properly just just a forum software that is proven to work properly!
Getting far too frustrating here :(

In my personal experience, this happens most often when there's a time lag between starting the comment and posting it. If you post within 3-4 minutes there's less likelihood of losing it.

BTW, today three Instructables pages have become "Unresponsive" in Chrome, which is a totally new thing. Seems to happen when clicking on links...

I agree about the lag thing. It is a good habit to compose in a word processor, then paste into the post. Makes it quick.

Still totally against the purpose of a working forum editor ;)
We would not need all the workarounds if things would work as planned.

Timing issues for sure, had to reload this page three times before the Reply button actually did open the text window.
But for about the first 10 seconds every character I typed disappeared.
And it should not matter how long it takes to finnish a posting - within reasonable time of course.
And for sure I can not finnish several lines of text within a few seconds.
Not having any correction options means you actually have to check before hitting the comment button.

Chrome has given me the "unresponsive" notice twice more since I posted this...I think there's a new bug on the horizon...

Three days later and I'm not seeing this behavior anymore; maybe it was just a temporary side-effect of some code updates.

@Gmoon / DU35m - best to make these comments as replies to mmmelroy, then they turn up in his notifications - as it is, the only one to get notified of your comments are, er, you two.

So you are saying the notifications work on your end? LOL

No, I just saw the thread had been active and checked it (something I doubt HQ staff do).
