There's a joke: A Man is in the middle of the ocean drowning, and a guy on a boat comes by and asks if he needs any help. The man replies, "No thanks, god will save me" so the man in the boat leaves. Another boat comes by and the person on it asks if the man needs help. The man, once again, replies, "No thanks, god will save me", so the boat leaves. The then drowns and goes to heaven. When he got to heaven, the man asked god why he didn't save him, and god replied, "I sent you two boats, you dummy!".

You're mixing up stories there LOL......after speaking as rabbi in front of the meeting, the crowd tried to throw him off a cliff. He was "tempted" to "jump" off the pinnacle of the temple.

Yes, you are right there, but the "tempter" could not have been "with him" as stated, so either the text contradicts itself or he "tempted himself", which is what James indicates: "each is tempted when lured and enticed by his OWN thoughts and desires...". He was there in the desert dealing with himself fasting for 40 days as the Israelites had done a few thousand years before.

:-) that is as Labot says below, an incident that happened long before Jesus' time, but yes, Jesus did go into the wilderness to fast for 40 days.

Now it sounds like you're either playing or being the ignorant. This is still a private website, you don't own it, and the owners of the website can remove anything irrelevant. Although it may now be breaking any government set rules or laws, this site can have it's own policy of use that you can be breaking.

it might not be breaking legal laws, but it does annoy a LOT of people. i dont see why you cannot just practice religion on your own, you dont have to yell christianity everywhere you go. you can teach those who ask about it, but please dont make public things about it.

You do understand that Christian mean "follower of Christ", correct ? Thus, one would have to find instances of him "seeking out the crowd" and "looking for attention" to justify some of this. What we do find is this: "and he got into a boat, to get away from the crowds" and "he went up the mount, and his disciples followed (but not the crowd)", and "he passed between them" (escaping the crowd); and after almost every healing he'd say "tell NO ONE about this". The last thing he sought was notoriety . It was his "life" that was the example. A Christian is to "do likewise".

I am Christian, but I follow Christianity more as it was in the first century ADE, and not how it has become. Yeshua himself never asked people to go about shouting in the streets, nor banging on doors. Just as one does not share advice without being asked, it is also not good to preach without being asked. I talk to different people in my workplace and around where I live all the time, but I do not "go seeking them out", they ask me questions about why I "do this" or "don't do that", etc.

I'm sorry, but I know for a fact that if you never mentioned Christianity, Kiteman would not give people grief for their religion, partly because he has no way of knowing if you are or are not Christian, and mostly because he's not one to troll and start a flame war. Any negative comments you may have received about your faith from any member here will all stem from you either mentioning your faith or preaching it.

I think it's kind of funny how a topic that had nothing to do with Christianity, just religion in itself, got so diverted to Christianity. Just goes to show you what kind of reputation they've got.
