Questions about MAOI interactions.
I've done some research and found a few helpful websites here and here. At the first website I found that "If you stop taking an MAOI, you should not start taking another antidepressant for two or three weeks." So, does that mean MAO inhibitors stay in your system for two to three weeks? Also, does that mean that all of the "Foods to Avoid" from the second website should be avoided for the full duration of the two to three weeks?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Secondly, to directly answer your questions: At the first website I found that "If you stop taking an MAOI, you should not start taking another antidepressant for two or three weeks." So, does that mean MAO inhibitors stay in your system for two to three weeks? Also, does that mean that all of the "Foods to Avoid" from the second website should be avoided for the full duration of the two to three weeks?
Simple answers: yes (maybe longer) and (definitely) yes. Although each person may react differently to meds and suppliments, erring on the side of caution would be best in this case.
